J-Pop Music


J-pop is a term used for Japanese popular music that entered the musical mainstream of Japan in the 1990s. The term J-pop is used to distinguish it from min'yo enka and folk music. "J-pop" of modern roots music of the 1960s as played The Beatles, and replace kayokyoku (Japanese pop music until the 1980s) in the Japanese music scene. The term J-pop created Japanese media to distinguish it from foreign music, and now refers to almost all popular music in Japan. According to 2006 data from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, the Japanese music industry has the world's second largest music industry in the world, and just being in the United States.
